Do you have the qualifications to become a good teacher?

What makes a good teacher? Personally, I think that a good teacher is caring, understanding, knowledgeable, accepting, challenging, adventurous, spontaneous, and fairly organized. I also think that every teacher should have something special they bring to the table. Everyone is unique and I think that teachers should be able to incorporate their talents and passions with their students. So, what do you think qualifies a teacher to being a good/great teacher, and do you think you possess those qualities? p.s. I think I possess the qualities I stated were necessary to be a good teacher.

I completely agree with you that a good teacher should be caring, knowledgeable, etc. I think the most important thing is teachers should be able to adjust themselves with the students' needs. Every student is different and for teachers, it is important to understand them first. That is really good that you posses the qualities like those such mentioned by you, that will help you a lot to succeed in your career.

Good Luck.

I think first off the most important thing a teacher should have is confidence. A teacher is expected to run their own classroom of about 25 kids. A teacher needs to be able to disapline kids, while at the same time make a safe and fun learning environment for all the other kids. I do agree with all the other qualifications you said, but i feel confidence should be added.

I think a good teacher has a passion to change lives. You have to have a passion to teach any age really. Someone who really wants to make a difference every year with 30 kids or more at a time. Teachers should care about each one of the child's education and really care about their well-being.

I agree with you and think a good teacher should be caring and knoweldgeable. Also, I think a good teacher is one who is fun and outgoing but at the same time not afraid if they aren't liked by all students. I say this because I have had teachers in school that were so worried about being the "most popular" that it completely took away from their teaching skills. I do believe that I have the traits to keep the students interested in learning and know that I can keep a good balance in teaching and being "the cool teacher". -Donavan Fincher

I also do agree with you. A teacher not only needs the knowledge, but a teacher needs to be aware of what is going on with their students and they need to care for them and take care of them. -Shelly Moy

I think that a good teacher is able to help the kids learn and provide extra help when needed, as well as to be patient and understanding. A great teacher will connect with their students and actually makes their students want to learn. They will be patient and understanding. A great teacher will also be able to make time to be available for the students when they need the extra help. Finally, a great teacher would be willing to help students inside, or outside the classroom.
