Would you rather have a family/mom/parent who never came to school functions and basically ignored all your letters or calls and seemed as if they were unintrested in their child's schoolwork?

Would you rather have a family/mom/parent who was always in your classroom trying to help out. Constantly sending you notes or reminders about the lessons you should be teaching and giving you pointers on how to do your job. They even call you at three in the morning to talk to you about their child's schoolwork and what you will be teaching them the next day?

I would like to have a good mix of both. I dont want a parent that completely ignores their students education, however, getting calls at three in the morning would be a bit too much. I would expect parents to answer calls, e-mails, and letters and even to ask questions if they are concerned. All parents should show a good amount of interest in their childrens education but not too much to where it could effect the way the student feels about school.-Donavan Fincher
I would rather have a parent involved in their children's life because then they can help their child along if they have any questions. But a parent can only help so much because the child has to learn on their own for some things and if you are always they they will look for your dependence. The fact is that a parent should show interest in their child's school work and care about how they are doing because the early years and the ones that count. Ashley Capps
I would rather have a parent that was involved in my education. I guess I could say that I do because my parents were always involved in my education was I was younger. I really appreciate having parents like that. I beleive that all parents should try to make time for their children's education.-Shelly Moy
I would definately not want the parent/guardian to ignore my letters or calls because that would show a lack of interest in there childs education and future. On the other hand, i would also not want to wake up at three in the morning letting them know my lesson plan for the next day. It would be nice if they came to the necessary school functions as well as returned my calls so they can be caught up on how there child is doing throughout the year!
